Nancy Essie Northcutt age 107, of Lexington passed away Sunday, August 10, 2003 at the Lexington Nursing Home. She was born in Guin, Alabama on July 7, 1896. She was the oldest of 12 children born to Martha Mariah Lenahan and Willis Manuel Homer. In 1915 she married Walter G. Northcutt, Sr. and one year later the family boarded a train & moved from Alabama to Lexington, Okla. where they farmed until retirement. Essie's life centered around her family and church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington for over 80 years. Essie touched so many lives with her loving, patient, and kind ways. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She was preceded in death by: parents: Martha & Willis Homer; husband: Walter; 2 sons: Bernus & O.V.; grandson: John. She is survived by: 5 sons and their wives: C.D. & Ruth Eleanor Northcutt of Ponca City, Carol & Omega Northcutt of Hernando, Florida, N.B. & Mayme Northcutt of Durant, Paul & Sally Northcutt of Ponca City, Walter & Kathy Northcutt of OKC; 3 daughters: Rubye Scull of OKC, Evelyn Hull of Bixby, Jonni York of Norman; 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren.
