He was born on March 30, 1932, in North Wilkesboro, N.C. He was married to Alice Jane Mack for 56 years before she was called home to our lord.
He was retired from Crucible Steel Mill in Midland, Pa., where he worked 32 years in the Cold Strip Rolling dept. He was the owner of Call's Variety Store in Chester and a working vendor at Roger's sale for 25 years.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his loving parents, Corben B Call Sr. and Ina Brooks Call; a sister Margie Call Roten; three brothers, the Rev. Robert Call, William Call and Jakey Dave Call; a grandson, Walter William Call Jr.; and a son-in-law Patrick K. Duffield III.
Surviving are eight children, Corben B. (Portia) Call III of Chester, James R. (Susie) Call of Newell, Joseph T. (Debbie) Call of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Rosemarie Call Adams of Gaffney, S.C., Walter W. (Jun) Call of Chester, Sherry Call Duffield of Newell, Richard F. (Linda) Call of Chester, David L. (Jen) Call of Newell; seven sisters, June Call Riddle of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Nancy Call Martin of Smithfield, Va., Bonnie Call Canter of Hiddenite, N.C., Geneva Call Souther of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Mary Jane Call Hysinger of Mount Vernon, Ky., Rebecca Call Baldwin of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Sarah Call Anglin of Nokomis, Fla.; three brothers, Corporal Joseph E.
