Bud "Buddy" Coppler, 68, died at 1:11 p.m. Oct. 4, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 17, 1942, in Lima to Harry and Nellie Williams Coppler, who preceded him in death. His special friend, Sue Spencer, survives in Lima.

Mr. Coppler drove a paver for Fritchie Asphalt Co. for more than 35 years. He also fixed lawn mowers and was a handyman. He attended Perry High School. He enjoyed selling pork rinds. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include a daughter, Roxanne Coppler, of Lima; four grandchildren, Gary (Alissa) Wantland, Brandon (Dasha) Wantland, Evan (Amber) Wantland and Eric (Ashley) Wantland; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Zerian Wantland; a brother, George (Dianna) Coppler, of Lima; and four sisters, Florence Wireman and Ethel Cira, both of Wapakoneta, Mary Davis, of Lima, and Edith Green, of Cridersville.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Buddy Jr. and Roy Coppler;three brothers,James,Harry Jr. and Andy Coppler; and three sisters,Dasie Coppler, Pearl Crawford and Hanna Miller.

Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chape. Pastor Arnold Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
