Pioneer Dies In McMinnville
Rosa Ann Phillips, 83, McMinnville pioneer, passed away Saturday, January 26. Born in McMinnville June 7, 1868, she had lived at the time of her death on the residence which had been in the family one hundred years.
She waws the daughter of James McPhillips and Mary A. Cates, deceased. Her husband, Richard W. Phillips, preceded her in death in 1939. Surviving are one son, Harry W. Phillips, McMinnville; one daughter, Mrs. Tressa Smith, McMinnville; and one grandson, Gary Phillips Smith, McMinnville.
Funeral services were held at Macy’s chapel Wednseday, December [should be January,newspaper typeset error] 30 at 1:30 p.m. Interment followed at Masonic cemetery. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Presbyterian church.
