A. Grove Shindle, 95, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
She was born on December 22, 1915 in Philadelphia, PA to the late James F. McCoy and Ida (Lewis) McCoy.
She was retired from the Commonwealth of PA, was a 50 year member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Harrisburg, a member of Central PA PARSE, AFSCME and the Welsh Society of PA.
She was pen pals with numerous people across the country.
Surviving are her daughter Ruth E. Bragunier of Harrisburg, her two sons Robert L. Shindle and his wife Nancy of Harrisburg, James W. Shindle and his wife Janet of Mechanicsburg, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia A. McClure.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 8, 2011 in Messiah Lutheran Church, with Rev. Laurie Charles Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin, PA.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday in the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home.
