COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 03/28/1984
The Rev. David L. Adkins, 30, formerly of Louisville, died Tuesday at his home in Habit in Daviess County after an illness. He was pastor of Bethabara Baptist Church in Habit. Survivors include his wife, the former Jo Ann Jones of Sturgis; a son, Matthew D. Adkins of Habit; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl D. Adkins of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, Dale Adkins of Bloomington, Ind., and Donald Adkins of New York City; and his grandmother, Mrs. Betty Langston of Borden, Ind. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. CST Thursday, at Bethabara Baptist Church, with burial at 3 p.m. EST in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation at James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST Wednesday. Visitation at Arch L. Heady Hikes Point Funeral Home, 4109 Taylorsville Road, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Daviess County chapter of the American Cancer Society or Hospice.
