Mrs. Oliver J. Johnson, 55, of Ridge Road, Applegate, wife of Oba D. Johnson Sr. former resident of Port Huron died Tuesday in Port Huron Hospital after an illness of two weeks.
Mrs. Johnson was born April 1, 1904, in Applegate, and lived in Port Huron until she returned to Applegate four years ago.
She and Mr. Johnson were married April 1, 1944 in Owosso.
She is survived by her husband and a daughter, Miss Joyce E. Johnson both of Applegate; two step sons, Wilbur E. Johnson, Clinton, Tenn. and Oba D. Johnson Jr. Port Huron; two step daughters, Mrs. John Troy and Mrs. Mason Mills, both of Port Huron; six grandchildren, her father Lewis Bingle, Applegate, two sisters Mrs. Ila Teeple, Port Huron, and Mrs. Ruth Needham, Smiths Creek; three brothers, Leo Bingle, Croswell, Kenneth Bingle, Applegate, and Harld Bingle, Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Pilgrim Holiness Church, of which Mrs. Johnson was a member.
Rev. G.V. Skinner, pastor will officiate.
James McLean, vern Cutler, Elmer Ginther, James Mills, Gary Koreiba, and Michael Koreiba will be pallbearers.
Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
The remains, in the Arthur Smith funeral home, will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
