David Lee Timmons, 75, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Chad Mantooth officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Mr. Timmons was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Russell, Okla., to Minnis and Dora Timmons. He married Ruth Carden Timmons on May 9, 1992. David enjoyed gardening, garage sales and restoring old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, June Short.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Ruth Timmons; three children, David M. Timmons and wife Robin, Kim Monroe and husband Doug, all of Amarillo and Bobby Timmons and wife Becky of Bangs; seven grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren; a stepdaughter Kristi Van Horn and husband Scott, along with their six children; two sisters, Norma Lou Moon of Royse and Gloveta Hightower of Ardmore, Okla.; two Brothers, Royce Timmons of Amarillo and Jerry Timmons of Norman, Okla.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch,
P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo TX 79174.
