Lora T. Lundgrin, age 97, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Holiday Resort Nursing Center, Salina. Mrs. Lundgrin was born Lora Thelma Allsbury on July 15, 1914, at Oronogo, Mo., to the Rev. Roy C. and Maudie B. (Mayfield) Allsbury. Mrs. Lundgrin graduated from Gypsum High School in 1931 and Kansas Wesleyan University in 1935. She taught English and Latin in Lucas. She was a homemaker. She taught piano, Meninger Bible studies and was a guide for Christian Women Bible studies. She married Godfrey Lundgrin on May 6, 1939, in Glasco. He preceded her in death in 1989 as did a grandson, Mark Lundgrin, in 1971. She is survived by one son, Jerry Lundgrin and wife Carolyn, of Salina; and her grandchildren, Michael Lundgrin, Linn Exline, Melissa Lundgrin and Lori Conner. Her great-grandchildren, Blake Lundgrin, Alex Lundgrin, Kyler Lundgrin, Mason Lundgrin, Keegan Exline, Alyssa Lundgrin, Mohri Exline, Maeci Exline, Allyson Exline, Kalex Lundgrin, Calyn Conner and Maryn Conner. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at University United Methodist Church, 1509 S. Santa Fe, Salina, with the Rev. Mike Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, Oct. 5, at Ryan Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the church or to the Salina Education Foundation. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina, is in charge of arrangements.
