Leo F. Schiff, 72, a retired Silver City business man, who operated Schiff's Men's Clothing Store with his brother, Max, died Monday, July 7th in the Southwestern General Hospital in El Paso, where he had been a patient for the past nine weeks. Mr. Schiff was born in Mogollon but spent his life in Silver City. Hewas Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American National Bank, a member of the Silver City Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 8; a life member of the Silver City Elks Lodge and the Scottish Rite ofNew Mexico and the Shrine of Albuquerque. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Schiff of Silver City; one son, Samuel L. Schiff of Boise, Idaho; two daughters, Miss Minna Lee Schiff of Silver City and Mrs. Annette Griscom of Long Meadow, Mass.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Max Schiff of Silver City; one sister, Mrs. Clara Ward of Silver City. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Curtis Mortuary with the Silver City Masonic Lodge AF & AM No. 8 in charge of chapel and graveside services. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers (active) will be Wade White,Pete Moore, Marvin Glenn, Ernest Wischmann, Russell Michael and Jack Barker. There will also be a large number of honorary pallbearers.
