He was born in Gassville, Arkansas on July 9, 1947 to Howard Odale and Guila Lexa (Pyle) Davenport. He was a 1965 graduate of Yellville-Summit High School and a truck driver for Marion County Paving Co. He was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served in Vietnam for four years. He loved the outdoors and hunting. In March of 2009 Mike retired from Ranger Boat Company.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Guila Davenport.
He is survived by his father, Odale of Yellville;
his wife, Gail (Tapp) of Yellville; two sons: Michale of Hawaii, and Justin of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a daughter: Robin Fike of Fayetteville; and two brothers: Darrel and Rick, both of Yellville; and eight grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday March 13, 2010, at Caney Church of Christ, Yellville, Arkansas with Jeff Crawford officiating.
Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Davenport, David Doshier, Joe Davenport, Larry Davenport, Heath Davenport, and Bobby Davenport.
Memorials may be made to Caney Cemetery Fund of charity of choice.
