Mrs. Viola Drake Cooper died at her home in Grant Thursday at the age of 82. She had heart trouble for some time and had been bedfast for several weeks.
She came to Grant from New Hope 24 years ago and was originally from New Hope. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Tye Drake. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
One of her daughters was a Cooper and married a Cooper. Another married a Woody which was Mrs. Cooper's mother's name before she was married.
Survivors:
Husband: Ambrose H. Cooper
3 daughters: Mrs. Jewel Lewis of Grant; Mrs. Allene Woody of New Hope; Mrs. Virginia Cooper of Grant.
3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren
Sister: Mrs. Mary Cobb of New Hope
The funeral was at Carr Funeral Home's Chapel in the Pines on Friday with Bro. James Ashworth officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery near New Hope.
Pallbearers: Harold Keller, Buford Warren, Charles Cobb, Wayne Cooper, Jim Gillespie, and John Ed Frazier.
