US Congressman. Served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Georgia's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1875 to 1881. Also served as a Representative from Georgia in the Confederate Congress from 1864 to 1865, and Member of the Georgia State Senate from 1886 to 1888.
