Mr. Jones was born in Ellisdale and was the son of the late John and Emma Smith Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Oakhurst Methodist Church and a member and ex-chief of the Oakhurst Fire Company. He belonged to the Sons and Daughter of Liberty of Long Branch and was a member and secretary of the Oakhurst rod and Gun Club.
Mr. Jones was a resident here 53 years. He was retired as a photographer, having been employed at Fort Monmouth. He had also been employed at one time by Heimlich Motors, Long Branch.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Jones; two daughters, Miss Aleta Jones and Mrs. Frances Yarrington, both of Oakhurst; two grandchildren. and a siter, Mrs. Martin Ryerson of Long Branch.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Woolley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
