U.S. Congressman. Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, he engaged in agricultural pursuits and served as a Colonel in the Fayette County Militia. In 1841, he was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-seventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Enos Hook, serving until 1843. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed agricultural pursuits until his death at age 72 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
