Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Moltke Township, Sibley County with Pastor David Radtke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Gibbon.
Arthur is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mildred Bentz, a resident of Fairfax Community Home; daughters and sons-in-law, Glorian and Ronald Sander of Bricelyn, Marilyn and Lance Briard of Gaylord, and Carolyn and Gregory Johnson of Winthrop; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Faye Bentz of Gibbon, Bradley and Karen Bentz of Hamburg, and Donovan and Sue Bentz of Gibbon; twenty grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elvira Podratz of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Leona Buerkle; brothers-in-law, Adolph Buerkle and Edwin Podratz; and a great-grandson, Thomas Johnson.
Arthur William Paul Bentz was born on Nov. 8, 1918, in Moltke Township, Sibley County to Albert and Ida (Dreier) Bentz. On April 9, 1939, he married Mildred Lilienthal in Glencoe. Arthur was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Moltke Township and attended Parochial School. He was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed horses, fishing, bowling, and playing cards. Art was a member of the Moltke Town Board and the Gibbon Lions.
