COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY 10/08/2011, Matherly, Gladys Mae, 88, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Hillcrest Centre for Health and Rehabilitation in Jeffersonville, IN. She was born June 16, 1923 in Crawford County, IN. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for friends and family, embroidering, and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Henry Clay Matherly; her parents, Welza Oscar Morgan and Agnes Parr Morgan; brothers, Walter Howard Morgan and Melvin Levi Morgan; sister, Mattie Ruth Roberson. Survivors include her son, Bruce L. Matherly of Clarksville; daughter, Shirley R. Matherly of Jeffersonville; grandson, Brian L. Matherly (Janell) of Palmyra; stepgrandson, Paul J Lustig of Clarksville; brother, Russell Elmer Morgan (Romona) of Bloomington; special neighbor, Will Wyman; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel, with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
