Alvarez Daniel Armijo Alvarez, 36, a lifetime resident of Central, died Sunday in Albuquerque. He was born March 27, 1959 in Truth or Consequences. Mr. Alvarez was an avid fisherman, hunter and bicycle rider, and loved the outdoors. Other hobbies were archery, woodworking and baseball. He was medically retired from Fort Bayard Medical Center, where he was supervisor for nursing assistants. Calling hours were to be held this afternoon from 3-5 in Baca's Funeral Chapels, where the prayer vigil will be held tonight at seven with Deacon Johnnie Perez reciting the rosary. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning at ten in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Rod Nichols officiating. The rite of committal and burial will follow at 330 p.m. in the Chloride Cemetery in Chloride. Survivors include his parents, Max M. Alvarez of San Lorenzo and Rosie A. Alvarez of Las Cruces; parental grandparents, Audelita Alvarez and the late Max Alvarez Sr. of Silver City; maternal grandparents, Eduardo Armijo and the late Alvita Armijo of Alamogordo; his fiancee, Patricia Maynes of Central; two sons, Danny Alvarez Jr. of Italy and Ace Alvarez of Central; two stepsons, Benjie Maynes Jr. and Patrick Maynes of Central; a daughter, Tabitha Alvarez of Central; two stepdaughters, Stephanie and Sandi Maynes of Central; a sister, Grace Marquez, and her husband, Rudy of Hurley; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a niece and nephew, Maxine and Rudy Marquez III of Hurley. Casket bearers will be Robert Dominguez, David Jaramillo, Paul Armijo, Lupe Reyes Jr., Eloy Alvarez Jr. and Gilbert Alvarez. Honorary bearers are Andy Lopez, Juan Ortega, Rudy Marquez, Lorenzo Armijo, Isaac Lopez, Donald Luna, Manuel Peru and David Michaelback. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.
