During his tenure, he was known for pressing for a mandatory code of ethics for the real estate profession and mortgage loan brokers, and sharply reduced the number of documents required for public reports. After leaving the post, he developed seminars for the real estate profession on ethics, and eventually started his own company to assist students in preparing for the California state licensing exams in various fields.
