Wilford B. Rose of Waldron Arkansas passed from this life in the afternoon on Friday, October 7, 2011 in a Waldron hospital surrounded by his family. Wilford was a member of Keener Freewill Baptist Church. He was born in 1939 to the late Jackie F. Rose and Freda M. Hawkins Rose in Keener Arkansas. He was 72 years, 27 days old.

Wilford began his education in Boles Arkansas and Parks Arkansas then he graduated from Waldron High School 1957. He moved onto graduate from Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas in 1961. He began his career as a teacher and coach in Fourche Valley Arkansas and then returned to his alma mater(Waldron) to complete his 40 plus years as a teacher, coach and friend to an untold numbers of students. Wilford, better known as "Coach" set the bar high for students and facility alike.

When Coach started in Waldron he began under Coach Charles Lyons. Throughout the years, he has been assistant football coach , basketball coach, bus driver, teacher of Biology, Physics, and Physical Science. He wanted to see each student succeed and excel. To know him was to love him. To say he had pride in his town and his students was an under statement to say the least. Coach had an never ending desire to reach the young people in his area. Coach had a true passion for teaching and coaching and the students he was surrounded by. He loved his students. In fact, it's been told that he tried to retire three different times but couldn't stay away. Although his physical presence will be missed by everyone who knew him, his caring and compassionate ways will forever be among us.

Wilford leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cheri of the home; three sons, Stan of Greenwood Arkansas, Stuart and wife Teresa of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Steven and wife Tammie of Lavaca, Arkansas, and one step daughter, Christy Long and husband James of Waldron, Arkansas. Pappy will forever be missed by his grandchildren, Zach Rose, Kaylin Rose, Allison Rose, Ashlin Rose, Leah Long, and Justin Long.
