Carmela was born on November 8, 1966, in Redfield, South Dakota, to Vincent and Blanch (Hartley) Flanigan. She attended school in Redfield, She was very active in sports and other academic programs. In her Senior year, she was voted Miss Congeniality and picked Snow Queen (Miss Redfield), Cheerleading was her #1 sport, then basketball. Graduating in 1985, she attended Northern State University in Aberdeen.
On October 9, 1992, carmela married Mike Toth at Aberdeen, South Dakota. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Faulkton, South Dakota, then moved to Salem, South Dakota, and in May of 1997, moved to Randolph, Nebraska.
She attended Wayne State University, Wayne, Nebraska where she was on the Dean's list.
Carmela was active in church functions, especially with the youth groups. She started "Kids 4 Christ" in Randolph, Nebraska.
She enjoyed working with crafts, sewing and cooking. She, also, loved animals. Carmela's husband, Mike, and two girls, KaLinda and Larissa were her life's pleasure.
Carmela is survived by her husband, Mike, and two daughters: KaLinda and Larissa Toth, of Randolph, Nebraska; her parents: Vincent and Blanch Flanigan of Redfield, South Dakota; one brother, Vincent Jr "Butch" Flanigan of Rapid City, South Dakota; maternal grandparents: Ralph and Hazel Hartley of Garden City, South Dakota; and paternal grandmother, Doris Flanigan of Watertown, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather and father-in-law.
