He was preceeded in death by his first wife, Dora Eliza Rugg Newhouse(interred Forest Lawn Cemetery May 28,1947) and by his parents, William and Mary Dooley Newhouse(interred Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, CA). In WWI he served as a Radio Sargeant at Headquarters Company, 49th. Artillery CAC. His dates of service where from April 23, 1917 to April 1, 1919.
