Cyril Majeres was born on Thursday, September 18, 1913, in rural Oyens, IA, the son of Joe and Clara (Delperdang) Majeres.

On Monday, April 21, 1941, Cyril married Rose Ann Plendl at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens.

Cyril was raised in the Oyens/Remsen area and received his education at St. Catherine's Catholic School in Oyens and St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen, IA.

Cyril was then engaged in farming with his parents. After their marriage, Cyril and Rose Ann farmed together near Oyens until retiring on the farm in 1982. Illness led to Cyril's move to the Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen on March 22, 1999.

Cyril was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
Cyril and Rose Ann had no children.

Cyril, 86 years old, died on Sunday, January 2, 2000, at Happy Siesta, following a lengthy illness. His wake was held on January 4 at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen. Following a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass said by Father Randy Schon at Oyens St. Catherine's Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 5, Cyril was buried in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
