Elizabeth ‘Betty' J. Brown, 84, Defiance, died at 2:14 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in her home. She was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Putnam County, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Mangas) Zenz.
In 1947, she married Jack Brown, who died in 1986. She was an inspector at GM Powertrain and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elks Lodge 147 and VFW Post 3360 Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Debra) Goldenetz, Bluffton; three sons, Rodney (Lynda) and Douglas of Defiance and Charles (Kimberly), Jacksonville, Fla.; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Edwin J. Zenz.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Tim Kummerer officiating. Entombment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens mausoleum.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are to the church or Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance.
