Funeral services were held Friday from the chapel of the Frank Murchison Funeral Home, with the Rev. H.W. Scoates officiating, and the Rev. Charles Whitson assisting. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Hubert Lawler, S.L. Atkinson, Harold Blount, Robert Oliver, Thaddaus Williamson, Lamar Powell. Honorary pallbearers were: R.W. Lowe, Theo Meeks, Clay Barker, Frank Richardson, O.D. Spires.
Survivors include: one daughter, Miss Carolyn Cannon of Statesboro; three sons, Julian Cannon of Tifton, Jack Cannon of Albany, Gene Cannon of Tifton; three sisters, Mrs. John F. Darley of Statesboro, Mrs. B.D. Bedgood of Vidalia, and Mrs. Lautis Carter of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Walter H. Cannon of Jacksonville, Fla., and four grandchildren.
The deceased was a retired railroad man, and a member of the Lumber City Methodist Church.
