Pauline Elizabeth (Hein) Nance passed away on August 28, 2003, in Kansas City.

She was born on June 8, 1944, to Frederick and Winnifred (Stephenson) Hein. She was a member of the Basehor United Methodist Church and had attended Central Business College in Kansas City, Missouri.

During WWII, she worked for Hercules Inc, at Sunflower Ordinance Plant, DeSoto, Kansas. She worked for Weaver Airline School, Kansas City, Missouri for 18 years, the purchasing department at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, and the food service department at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, where she was named employee of the year.

Pauline married her first husband, Lester Lafferty, on November 24, 1938.

She later married Charles Elmer Nance on November 6, 1943, Olathe, Kansas; they were married for 54 years. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents and granddaughter Michelle Lea Nance (3-11-1970 to 2-12-1973).

Survivors include one son, Charles F. Nance (Shirley) of Chandler, Arizona; daughter, Joyce Nance Woodcock (Harry) of Leavenworth, Kansas; brother, Robert William Hein (Marylou) of Basehor; grandchildren, Robert K. Woodcock, Sarah Nance South, and Cheryl Nance; and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Basehor United Methodist Church with burial at Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, Kansas. Quisenberry Funeral Home of Tonganoxie, Kansas is in charge of the arrangements.

Pauline was a big KANSAS CITY CHIEFS fan and a Season Ticket Holder for many years, attending in all types of weather until her health prevented her from going the last couple of years.
