He was born September 15, 1924 in Nell, Kentucky to the late Avery & Maggie Jessie Janes. He was a factory worker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and VFW Post 6097, having served in the Army in World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Funeral Service - Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Bro. William Davenport and Bro. Steve Pescosolido officiating.
Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors presented by VFW Post 6097.
Visitation after 4 P.M. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church & after 12 Noon Sunday at the church until time of the funeral.
