Gorda Porter, 88, of Beattyville, KY., passed away Monday, September 11, 1989. Born November 18, 1900, she was the daughter of Joseph Strong and Elizabeth Creech. She was a school teacher and a L.P.N. nurse, taught school in Lee County for years, went to Eastern State Teachers College.
Survived by four daughters, Irma J. Otis, Beattyville; Elizabeth Roncevich, Beattyville; Margaret Beaver, Oklahoma; Joanne Dennis, Florida.
There will be a memorial service held at a later day to be announced
Gorda is buried in the Gabbard Cemetery, Lee County, Athol, Kentucky.
