MINSTER - Dr. E. A. (Ed) Gomolski, 55, a practicing physician in Minster for 13 years, died Monday night in St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo. He had been in failing health three years. Death was attributed to leukemia.
Requiem High Mass will be sung in St. Catherine's Church in Toledo Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in that city.
A native of Toledo, Dr. Gomolski practiced there several years after completing his education. He came to Minster in 1932 and took over the office and practice of the late Dr. John Laufersweiler.
In 1945 he left Minster and established his practice at Covington, in Miami County, 20 miles south of here. After nearly 13 years in Covington he abandoned his practice when his illness became acute several months ago. He then returned to Toledo.
Surviving are his wife, Frances (Down) Gomolski; a daughter, Miss Carol; a son, John, all of Toledo; four sisters, Mrs. A. Doman of Fairmont, W. Va., and Mrs. Rose Czarnecki, Mrs. Agnes Thomas and Mrs. Sophia Lechlak, all of Toledo; and four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Lee and Stephen, all of Toledo.
Dr. Gomolski was a graduate of the University of Toledo and was graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He held membership in a number of organizations including the American Medical Association and the Ohio State Medical Association.
The body is at the Coyle Funeral Home, 2475 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo. Friends may call there at any time until the services.
