Robert E. Diegoli of Plymouth, a lifelong resident, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 9, while walking his beloved dog, "Avalanche" in his hometown. Born in Plymouth, Dec. 22, 1928, a son of the late Frances M. (Guimond) and Andrew R. Diegoli, he graduated from Plymouth High School, Class of 1945. He then worked at the trout hatchery in Plymouth for a number of years, interrupted in the early 1950s by an enlistment in the the U.S. Marine Corps, where he reached the rank of sergeant. He also had his own business, Bob's Radio Hospital, run out of his home. In 1955, he married Virginia E. (Richards), who predeceased him in 1999. He worked at Telemobile in Plymouth, a business which he later purchased and ran until his retirement. He was well known for his love of Alaskan malamutes and his walks with his dog along the North Plymouth shore and Plymouth waterfront. He was the father of Debra L. Diegoli and her partner Ingrid Anderson of Weathersfield, Vt., David A. and his wife Debra J. Diegoli of Taunton, Daryl E. Diegoli and his partner Glenn Richmond of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Donna M. Nixon and her husband Thomas of Wesley Chapel, Fla. Also the grandfather of Marcia Crow Kingsland, Taylor, Connor and Carly Nixon of Florida; and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves his dog, Avalanche. Visiting hours in the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, Saturday from 9 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., followed by a graveside service in the Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alaskan Malamutes Rescue of N.E., Inc., P.O.
