Services for Thelma Parker, 79, of Route 1, Elkhart, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev, Theo Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart.
Mrs. Parker died Wednesday in Mother Francis Hospital, Tyler.
She was born Sept. 21, 1907, in New Mexico, daughter of Arthur Joe and Julie Marrs Stone. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Redtown. She was the owner of Parker's Grocery in Redtown for 40 years.
Survivors include her husband Caro Lee Parker of Elkhart; daughter Lorene Parker of Elkhart; step-daughter Joyce Murdock of Palestine; sisters Pearl Armstrong of Granberry, Letha Marrs of Stephenville and Inez Barnett of Jacksboro; brother Bill Stone of Granberry; and two grandchildren.

Thelma married Armistead "Armie" Parker on August 29, 1924.
They had one daughter Lorene.
They stayed in Granberry, for approximately another five years, Armie moving his family back to Elkhart, Texas in about 1930.
They opened Parker Store in the Redtown Community, out of Elkhart, Texas. Armie died in 1962, Thelma sold the store after maybe a year or two, to Travis Rials.
Parker Store used to be the gathering place for friends, relatives and people of the Redtown Community, which were mostly relatives.
After Armie died, (Caro Lee his brother who had been living whith them for years) and Themla got married.
They lived together on the Redtown road until their deaths.
She raised two grandchildren; Bobby and Janet.
