Peter and his wife Mary had no children of their own but they raised LeRoy R. Franzen (the son of Mary's brother Matthew Franzen and his wife Metta Pingel Franzen) from the age of 9.
Peter Retterath, of 144 Ledgeview Ave., Fond du Lac, died early today at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He had numerous relatives and friends in the Sheboygan area.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Fond du Lac. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave.
