Eugene H. Fisher, 88, of Hiawatha and formerly of Van Horne, died Saturday, October 8, 2011 near Robbins Road and Tower Terrace in Hiawatha from injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave, Vinton. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the Family Center from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Eugene was born March 8, 1923 at Belle Plaine to Wilson and Emma (O'Hara) Fisher. On February 11, 1942 he married Bernadine Bevins at Vinton.

He farmed and retired as a painter with FMC in 1983. In his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing and coon hunting with his coon hounds.

He is survived by his wife, Bernadine of Hiawatha; his daughter, Judy (Gene) Wickman of Robbins; his son, Gary (Alice) Fisher of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Daniel Parvin, Nancy Parvin Cortez, Jason Fisher and Jill Fisher Foster; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and fifteen siblings.
