Alphonse Delperdang was born in Alton, Iowa, on November 11, 1892, the son of Nick and Anna (Kass) Delperdang. He grew up on the family farm.
On February 18, 1919, Alphonse married Clementine Majeres at Remsen St. Mary's Catholic Church.
They farmed north of Remsen for a few years before moving into Remsen, where Alphonse took up masonry. He worked at this trade for 40 years, first with Paul Schmidt and then on his own.
Alphonse and Clementine had two sons, Merle of Sioux City, Iowa, and Ken of Lisbon, Iowa.
Clementine and Alphonse were married for 58 years until Alphonse died on March 20, 1977.
