Bruce, 56, died yesterday at his home in Nasonville after a long illness. He was the son of Guy Octavious Jr. and Gladys M. (Saunders) Ackerman. He married Vivian E. Patterson on September 10, 1961. He served for many years in the Air Force Reserve. Survivors include his wife and his sons, Byron Ackerman and Owen Ackerman. Funeral services were held at Douglas United Methodist Church in East Douglas. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
