"Jacob Abley Dies Tuesday
Jacob Abley, passed away the night of April 19, 1899, after being ill for several weeks. Born on February 2, 1823 in the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland to Heinrich and Maria. Mr. Abely came from Switzerland to New York, America in 1847 and to Monticello, Wisconsin in 1854.
He was married in 1859 to Angeline Meinert and raised six children; Maria, Cassie, Lizzie, Ida, Willie, and Vena. He was proceeded in death by his parents and daughter.
The funeral was held at the M.E. Church , with the pastor, Rev. H.B. Brenaman. Burial was at Albany Cemetery.
