Mr. Abernathy Dies After Short Illness
William P. Abernathy died at his home here Sunday, 50, died at his home here Sunday after a short illness.
Funeral services were held at Macedonia church at 4 p.m. Monday with the Owen Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Abernathy was born in Bartow County and was a son of Mary G. and John S. Abernathy, both natives of Bartow County.
His wife, the former Alice Howell, died April 21.
Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Willie Tanner, of Cartersville; two sisters, Mrs. E. Elgia, of Attla, Alabama, Mrs. Matilda Guyton, of Cartersville; three brothers, Cleve Abernathy and Linford Abernathy, both of Rydal; Elihue Abernathy, of Cartersville; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
