Jacques (French) Jacob (German) Stab was the first born of John Stab & Christine Heim in Hottviller, France. He was the first immediate family member to immigrate to the United States at the age of 16 on 27 Feb 1888 aboard the ship "Le Champagne" which departed from Le Havre, France. Almost all of the remainer of the family would not follow until 1892. He worked as a Day Laborer, Brewery worker, Steel Mill worker, than as a Fireman for a Manufacturing Company during his life.

He married Mary M. Bernard aka Maria on 15 Jan 1895 in Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV. They had seven children of which 6 survived. They moved from Wheeling, WV to Pittsburgh, PA between 1910 & 1920.
