My younger brother's obituary was Published in Jackson Citizen Patriot on December 4, 2007 I am not using that but will write about my brother.

Carl was a Napoleon High School graduate. Carl passed away from a heart attack at only 53 years old. He said he had not been feeling well. His wife Dawn took him to the hospital where he stayed for a short time. They said he needed to see a heart doctor and sent him home. Before he ever got to see the heart doctor he had a heart attack and quickly passed away.

He loved to play darts and was very good at it. He went weekly to compete with other players. He also loved to play golf. He took me when I was about 17 and I was a real dud at it. He just laughed and told me it was alright and he would give me another turn or two. Other than those two things he enjoyed being at home.

Our birth mother had abused us and we were all taken away from her when we were little. My brother Carl and sister Carla was adopted and raised by Dorothy and Steve Davis. His name started out as Carl William but when we were all adopted we had the chance to change our first and middle names. So he changed his middle name to his new dad's middle name. My sister Carla Mae renamed herself Salli Carla. We all still call her Carla.

They did not have a happy childhood due to their adopted parents who drank and abused them. Carl said if he died he wanted our birth dad's name on his obituary. He and my sister didn't want anything to do with their adopted parents.

My brother and I was very close when we were little. He was only 1 year 1 month 1 week and 1 day younger than me in age. We were always together when we was little. If a bug got on me I screamed for him to get it off me. If anyone ever bothered me my brother got on to them for me. I wish that my precious mom and dad would have adopted him to be raised with me.

When I found him and Carla we had not seen one another since I was 8, Carla was 9 and Carl was 7. It was when my precious mother put an ad in the Woman's Circle that I found my brother and sister. I was 16, Carl was 15, Carla was 17. Thanks to my precious mom Pauline B. Caldwell Strouss for helping me find my birth family.

Mom said that we should go to the school to see them just in case their parents would not let them see me. So mom and I went to the school office to find out what rooms they were in. We hugged, held each other, laughed, and we all cried for the joy of me finding them. Mom was right to go to the school to see them first. Their parents did not want them to see me but it was to late. After having seen them my brother and sister would not take no for an answer to being with me again and again. Even though all the years had passed we became very close again.

Then after 33 long years of not seeing our brother Arthur Emanuel we found him. I had searched so long and hard to find him. Then came that wonderful day when Carl, Carla, Arthur, and I had a reunion at our birth father's house in Ohio. The Newspaper came and did a story on us and took our picture with us with our birth father.

After all the years apart we siblings still felt deep love for each other. Nothing could ever take that love away from us. The paper quoted me as saying "The last piece of the missing puzzle is together now. Now we can all find peace".

We also have a half brother Dale, and Michael. We do not think of them as half brothers we love them just the same. We all have the same birth mother but Dale and Mike were raised by her. They are 9 and 13 years younger than me, so I love them like my own.

When Carl passed away we had a family gathering at the church for the viewing. Our birth father, birth aunts, and other family member's were all there. After the viewing my brother was cremated and his ashes were given to our sister Carla.

My brother leaves behind his wife Dawn, his daughter Holly, his sisters, Carla & Ann, his brothers, Arthur, Dale, & Michael, and all their children. He also left behind his beloved cat Smokey. Smokey has gone on to be with Carl now.

I am putting a link to me because the doctors think I wont live much longer. At first I didn't want to know but they think it will be around April 2012. Carl's sister Ann1953-Still Living
