James J. Byrne, 72, died September 17 in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Byrne grew up in Patchogue, graduated from Seton Hall High School in 1957 and earned a bachelor's degree at Adelphi University. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, as a member of the Military Police. He worked at Brookhaven National Laboratories, was a broker on Wall Street and director of investor relations for Pizza Hut.
Mr. Byrne is survived by his brothers, Hugh, Kevin and Neil; sisters, Marian Byrne, Brigid Byrne and Peggy Reese; and by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Byrne's remains will be interred in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on Oct. 28.
