Gail Marsha Elflein, 77, of Ormond Beach, FL, died on Monday, October 10, 2011 at her son's and daughter-in-laws home in Kennebunk, Maine.
She was born in New York, NY on May 4, 1934, the daughter of William and Leanore (Thompson) Hoagland. She grew up in New York, and graduated from High School in East Rockaway, NY.
Gail was the widow of Arthur Elflein , who predeceased her in 2009. After moving from Long Island to Florida in 1981 with her husband, Gail worked as a condominium manager. She also was a librarian in New York and volunteered as an usher at the Seaside Musical Theater in Florida. Gail was a member of Casements - Rockefeller Historical Building, and St. Brendan's Church. She was also a member of the Arts and Science Guild of Florida.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Arthur Paul (AJ) Elflein.
She is survived by her son, Arthur G. Elflein and his wife Carol whom they made her home of Kennebunk; her daughter, Lyn Hof and her husband Jim of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Joseph Gagliardi and his wife Melissa of Queens, NY, and Justin Elflein of Kennebunk; great-grandson Michael and great-granddaughter Shannon Gagliardi of Queens, NY.
There are no calling hours. A Graveside service will be held at the Daytona Memorial Park in Daytona Beach, FL at a later date.
