"Glen Kay Hanway, 50, of 1442 Pershing, died Thursday in Bannock Regional Medical Center following an apparent heart attack.

"He was born July 25, 1937 in Bridgeport, Neb., the son of John and Ruth Hanway. He moved from Nebraska as a young boy and attended schools in Jerome and Boise and graduated from Boise High School in 1955.

"He joined the U.S. Air Force a few days after graduation and was stationed in Japan for two years before his discharge in 1959.

"He married Phyllis Rae Burgess on March 12, 1960 and they later divorced. On November 14, 1964 he married Carole Jackson at Rupert.

"Mr. Hanway was employed as a plumber apprentice by Drake Plumbing in Boise, and after receiving his plumbing license, he moved to Pocatello in 1973 where he worked for Parr, Inc. He then started his own business known as Kay's Plumbing and Heating. He served as city plumbing and heating inspector from 1979 until 1981. Since 1981 he has owned and operated Advance Mechanical.

"Mr. Hanway was a member of the LDS Church.

"Survivors include his wife of Pocatello; his mother, Ruth Thornton, Boise; a son Gary E. Hanway, Warren AFB, Cheyenne, WY; two daughters, Lisa Bartle, Sumner, Washington; and Jerri Hanway, Pocatello; a sister, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Boyer, Boise; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.

"Funeral services will be Saturday at 10a.m. at Manning Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wayne L. Hill of the United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7-9p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at Manning Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise with graveside rites at 4 p.m."
