Eva M. Herman, age 93, of Bottineau, ND passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 31, 2010 in the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center in Bottineau, ND.

Visitation began at 6 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary services at 8 pm led by Mark Laducer and Diana DeCoteau.

Funeral Mass was held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 10 am in the church. Burial followed in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt.

Casket Bearers were great-grandsons, Brandon Laducer, Jacy DeCoteau, Tanner DeCoteau, Taylor Parisien, Jonathan Laducer, Carl Nadeau, Joshue Nadeau, and Weston Poitra. Honorary Bearers were all great-grandchildren.

Eva Madeline Herman was born on November 25, 1916 in Belcourt to Pierre and Angeline (Vandal) Herman. Eva attended grade school in Fort Totten, ND and then went on to high school in Flandreau, SD. She furthered her education at Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas.

Eva was the proud mother of one daughter, Betty Ann Laducer. Eva always loved to travel and loved to live in cities. Eva was a very independent lady; when Betty was young they took many bus trips to Spokane, Washington to visit rlatives. Eva eventually moved to Spokane where she lived and worked for 20 years before moving to Minot and eventually making Grand Forks, ND her hometown where she resided for over 30 years. Eva taught Metchif Language at the University of North Dakota.

Eva practiced her Catholic Faith by attending massses until her health didn't allow. She then watched EWTN masses by faithfully participating in the masses.

Eva had a passion for watching baseball, her all-time favorite team was the "Atlanta Braves". Eva always found time for her other interests; traveling, visiting, shopping and rummaging. Betty and her children always traveled to Grand Forks to pick up Eva and take her shopping, rummaging, and eating out. Eva could be frequently seen at Columbia Mall shopping. They chrished their time with her immensely.

Eva was a bright, articulate, energetic and attentive person, a big personality that won't ever be forgotten. Eva's passion for life, family, and friends has been an inspiration to all whose lives she touched. She was fun, classy and always had a way of making her family laugh. We will heep her in our hearts forever.

Eva is survived by her only child and loving daughter, Betty Ann Laducer and her eight grandchildren; Melvin-John (Tammy) Laducer, Diana Lynn DeCoteau, Janice Poitra, Jackie Jo Laducer, Spencer (Rolanda) Laducer, Paulette Laducer, Mark Laducer, Luke (Jennifer) Laducer; 22 Great-Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
