Estherville – Funeral services will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for Charles (Chuck) E. Pemble, Sr. 77, who died at his home here Saturday [October 24, 1987].

The Rev. Tom Balm will conduct the service, with burial to follow at the East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Chuck was born Feb. 16, 1919 at Paton, the son of Charles E. and Lenora (Mertz) Pemble. He received his education in the Paton schools and also studied at Simpson College at Indianola.

He was married to Ava Pauline Huffman April 8, 1933, at Rockwell City.

Chuck lived in Estherville the past 41 years, and had been employed by the Moeller & Jones Construction and Fagre Construction companies. He retired in 1976. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and three daughters: Charles E. Pemble Jr. of Everly; Patricia Cruse of Bakersfield, Calif.; Sharon Popp of Atlanta, Ga.; Daniel R. Pemble of San Diego, and Pamela Pemble of Minneapolis, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Holm of Des Moines also survive.
