∼Mrs. A. J. Poe, age 82 years, died yesterday at 12:35 pm at the home of her son, J. S. Poe at Oeneaville.
Mrs. Poe was born in Franklin County, Tennessee on July 8, 1840, and joined the Methodist church in 1856. She was an active worker in all Christian work as long as she was able. She was married to A. J. Poe on August 9, 1859. Seven children were born to this union, three of whom survive her J. D. Poe of Houston, J. S. Poe of Oeneaville and Mrs. Mary Wood of Elgin. She was a devoted wife and mother, was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by scores of friends.
Her husband preceded her just one month ago, having died at Oenaville on October 17th.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 oclock at the Oenaville cemetery, Rev. W. C. Oats, officiating. Pallbearers will be W. W. Linn, N. S. Linn, C. H. Treat, J. A. Shilling, J. W. Whittington and T. D. Wesson.
