Biography of William B Thompson
William B. Thompson (deceased) was born in Virginia in 1818. He is the son of Elias and Dianna (Holloway) Thompson, who are mentioned in the sketch of Elias Thompson. Our subject was eighteen years old when they came to this county, and soon began for himself as a farm hand. He continued in this way until he was twenty-five years of age; he then married America J., a daughter of Eli and Sarah Finley, natives of Kentucky, who came to this county in 1833, and lived here until their death. Their children are Dianna F., Elizabeth S., Alice V., Nathan A., William O., Olivia, Sylvester H., and Claude E., all of whom are married except one. Our subject began in a log hut, and acquired an estate of 700 acres, which is one of the best farms in the county. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and of the Baptist Church to which his wife still belongs. His death occured June 5, 1872.
