Kallem E. 'Charlie' Naifeh, 83 of Mead, Oklahoma died Friday, November 22, 1996 at the Calera Manor Nursing Home, Calera, Oklahoma. He was born December 15, 1913 in Judea Marjouin, Lebanon to Ellis D. and Zakia Naifeh. He came to Oklahoma in 1919 from Judea Marjouin, Lebanon. He was retired from being a retail restaurant Owner. He was a member of St. Elijah Orthodox Church, and served in the United Stated Army from 1941 to 1945. He married Bernice Louise Coffelt in 1942 in Denver, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Naifeh. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Naifeh, of Mead, Oklahoma; sons, spouses & children: K. Ellis and Vicki Naifeh of Ada, Oklahoma; Zeak and Brandon of Ada; Terry Robert and Kay Naifeh of Durant, Oklahoma; Leilah of Durant; Michael Stephen Naifeh of Ardmore; Mike's children Kimberly & Michael II of Durant, Hailey & Zoe of Ardmore; Dennis George and Sheree Naifeh of Durant, Oklahoma; Kacey and Dennis George II of Durant; sister, Sadie L. Razook of Durant, Oklahoma; niece, Robbie and John Potter of Edmond, Oklahoma; Robbie's children: Benjamin, Jeremy and Alisha; and friend, Patsy Naifeh of Durant, Oklahoma.

Charlie will be remembered most for establishing Naifeh's Steakhouse on Lake Texoma, where he and Bernice raised their four boys, and passed this business on to his youngest son, Dennis Naifeh. His final business endeavor was to form Naifeh's Western Wear Store, and Terry's Western Wear, known throughout the state of Oklahoma. In all his business affairs you could always count on Charlie to greet you at the door with a warm, smiling face and a friendly handshake as you entered, and a "Thank-you for coming!" as you left.

Charlie was active in the Shawnee Masonic Lodge in his early years of which he became a 32nd Degree Mason through the York Rite and Scottish Rite Temple. He was also a member of Durant Elks Lodge, Charlie was an avid golfer in his spare time.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday November 25, 1996 at St. John Episcopal Church of Durant, Oklahoma with Father James Blagg officiating. Pallbearers are K. Ellis Naifeh, Terry Robert Naifeh, Michael Stephen Naifeh, Dennis George Naifeh, John Potter, and Michael Stephen Naifeh II. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Graveside Rites will be conducted by Masonic Lodge 45 of Durant, Oklahoma. Memorials may be made to the St. Johns Episcopal Church, 515 W. Beech, Durant Oklahoma 74701 or Alzheimer's Association, 6465 W. Yale, Suite 318, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136.
