Alma Jean Adams, age 55 of Russellville, departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at home in Russellville.

She was born April 14, 1956, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Lawrence C. Adams and Louise V. Adams.

Alma was a member of the Army National Guard for a number of years and was employed at Arkansas Nuclear One for sixteen years. She was a mother, grandmother, and most of all a Christian. Alma loved people and never knew a stranger. She loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with her family. You never saw Alma without a smile. She had a special gift of making everyone she met feel accepted and loved. Alma touched people from all over.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence C. Adams and one brother-in-law, Vincent U. Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons Darrell McDaniel (Laura) and Wendell Lawrence Withers of Russellville; daughter, Amanda Jones (Fred) of San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Louise Adams of Russellville; two stepdaughters, Kim and Erica Austin of Little Rock; three sisters, Georgia Fletcher (Bobby) of Russellville, Anita Hill of Russellville, and Kayla Adams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kenya, Dylan, and Ariyana McDaniel of Russellville and Alicia Withers of Texas; three nieces, Dawnyell, Felicia and Chloe Fletcher, a nephew Robert Fletcher and a host of loving friends and family.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:00 A.M. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle with Bro. Richard Scott officiating. Burial will be at Howell Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers include Darrell McDaniel, Wendell Lawrence Withers, Jeff Cruse, Robert Fletcher, Robin Williams, Demoine Tolbert.

Honorary pallbearers are Edmond Cunningham, Tom Gilkey, Ronnie Davis, Ernest Williams and Charles Davis.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 east Parkway, Ste 3, Russellville, Arkansas 72802 or the American Cancer Society, 3291 SThompson, Ste D104, Springdale, Arkansas 72764.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle.
