He was born July 17, 1955 in Sheboygan, son of Mar jean (Schmidt) Heckmann Rohde and the late Elwyn Heckmann.
He was a 1973 graduate of Kiel High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from UW-Whitewater in 1982. He farmed the family homestead until 1977 and then was employed at Kohler Company until 1980. He taught one year at Manitowoc Lutheran High School. He was presently employed at Coldwell Banker, Sheboygan and East Central Cooperative Association in Kiel.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, church council treasurer, stewardship committee, Men’s club, Youth Bible class teacher, Sunday School superintendent, choir member, building committee, nominating committee, A.A.L. vice president, coach of the church youth softball team, the Sheboygan Noon Kiwanis, Sheboygan County Board of Realtors, The Wisconsin Realtors Association, Coldwell Banker dart team and Manitowoc County Republican Party. He graduated from Graduate Real Estate Institute (G.R.I.) and Certified Residential Specialist (C.R.S.)
Survivors include his mother, Mar Jean (Edwin) Rohde; one brother, Daniel, of Rio, Wis.; two sisters, Kathryn Heckmann, at home; Patricia, of Appleton; also three aunts and three uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
