Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Carl and Mahala Smith, was born near St. James, Mo., February 28, 1872, and passed away December 28, 1940, making her age at time of death sixty-seven years and ten months. She was united in marriage to Mr. Aden Hankins in the year of 1890. To this union were born six children. Namely, Mr. Bill Hankins, Mrs. Lola Florence and Mrs. Hattie Murphy, all of St. Louis, Mo. Her husband and three children preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss, the three children, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Florence Cuddy of St. Louis, Mo., one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends. She spent the last ten years with her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Murphy of St. Louis. More than thirty years ago she professed faith in Christ as her Savior and united with the Baptist Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death.
